14 Lessons from the book : Born to Win by Zig Ziglar

Born To Win is a unique and self-motivational book by Zig Ziglar and his son Tom Ziglar in which they explore how planning, preparation and hard work is the only way to win in life.

Here are 14 of the greatest lessons I’ve learned from this book:

  1. To start winning, visualize your success daily as soon as you wake up and genuinely want it.

  2. Setting goals and getting advice from successful people can set you on the track to win.

  3. Nurture and take care of every part of yourself, and you can expect to succeed.

  4. Commit to reaching your goal with sheer commitment.

  5. Record your weekly activities and seven most important things, in the order of their importance, which you need to do tomorrow.

  6. You need a solid foundation of honesty, character, faith, integrity, love and loyalty to succeed in life.

  7. Break your Long-Range Goals into smart goals.

  8. Shape up mentally, physically and spiritually. It takes energy, mental toughness, and spiritual reinforcement to deal with life’s opportunities and reach your objectives successfully.

  9. Be prepared to change.

  10. Share your “give-up” goals with many people. The chances are excellent. They are going to encourage you. Share your “go up” goals only with those rare people you strongly feel will give you support and encouragement.

  11. Become a team player. Learn to work with a team, such as your family, corporate associates, etc.

  12. See the reaching.

  13. Each time you reach a goal, your self-confidence and image will grow to do bigger and better things.

  14. No desire is the inaction to plan.
