Book Review of Magic of Thinking Big

Updated: Jun 22

I bought his book a couple of years ago; mentor Himanshu Kalra suggested this book. He is a network marketing trainer and art gallery owner. While reading this book, you will feel that the writer himself is talking with you and telling you all that he has written in the book. Whether you do a tiny thing or a huge one, you will get assurance that you will do it.

These books are FAR BETTER than the books written by MR CHETAN BHAGAT. Moreover, this book is also available in most of the RAILWAY STATIONS of INDIA. And I am not sponsoring anyone whether Amazon is good or bad; it's all bout the price.

In his book, The Magic of Thinking Big, author David J. Schwartz poses a fundamental question: Why should we think small or pessimistically about our work, accomplishments, and future? Why should we feel that our work is inferior to others?

This is an incredible book packed with life lessons on how to think BIG. Don’t hesitate; read this book because its value far exceeds its price.

My 3 Takeaways from the Book:

  1. Excuses Are Seductive

  • Excuses promise freedom from the pain of hard work, uncertainty, and failure. They lull us into letting ourselves off the hook. Without excuses, we must confront our fears of failure, rejection, and uncertainty. Schwartz teaches us that by eliminating excuses, we open ourselves to growth and success.

  1. The Power of Enthusiasm

  • Enthusiasm is one of the most valuable mindsets to have. Studies show that people who anticipate living longer than average work longer hours, are more confident about their future income, and have a greater life expectancy. Schwartz emphasizes that enthusiasm is contagious and can lead to greater success in both personal and professional life.

  1. Creativity Is for Everyone

  • Many people don’t see themselves as creative or capable of creative thinking. That’s a misconception. If you feel this way, it’s only because you haven’t developed habits conducive to creativity, not because you’re inherently uncreative. Schwartz argues that everyone can be imaginative if they’re willing to work at it. By fostering creativity, we can find innovative solutions to problems and unlock new opportunities.

Additional Insights:

Believe in Your Success

  • Schwartz emphasizes the importance of believing in your ability to succeed. This belief is the foundation of thinking big. When you truly believe that you can achieve your goals, you are more likely to take the necessary steps to make them a reality. Confidence in your abilities inspires others to believe in you as well.

Think and Dream Creatively

  • To think big, you must cultivate a mindset that encourages creative thinking and dreaming. This involves challenging the status quo, seeking out new ideas, and being open to unconventional solutions. Schwartz provides practical advice on how to break free from limiting beliefs and expand your thinking.

Set Clear, Defined Goals

  • Setting clear, defined goals is crucial for thinking big. Schwartz explains that having specific objectives helps you stay focused and motivated. It also allows you to measure your progress and make adjustments as needed. By setting ambitious yet attainable goals, you can push yourself to achieve more than you ever thought possible.

Conclusion

The Magic of Thinking Big encourages readers to adopt a mindset of abundance and possibility. David J. Schwartz provides practical strategies for overcoming self-doubt, fostering creativity, and setting ambitious goals. This book is an essential read for anyone looking to achieve more in life, both personally and professionally.

Schwartz’s insights are invaluable, offering a roadmap to a more successful and fulfilling life. By thinking big, we can break free from limitations and achieve greatness.

So, don’t assume twice; go ahead and read this book because its value is a trillion times the book price. Embrace the principles of thinking big and watch your life transform.
